I was in Kenya during the announcement of Barack Obama?s election as the 44th President of the United States.

Like everyone else, I got caught up in the mood of the moment. With head high in the clouds, I basked in the after glow of that unbelievable historic victory. I was exhilarated ? really puffed up like a pride-filled balloon. What a country Kenya is! To produce a man whose son goes to become the president of the most powerful country in the world ? incredible!

Kalonzo, Ngilu friends once again

Kamba leaders yesterday welcomed the decision by Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka and Water Minister Charity Ngilu to work together. The Friday truce, which is not the first, brought to an end one of the fiercest battles for supremacy in the region since the advent of multi-partyism.

The region has experienced intense power struggles for years and which have been blamed for the low development.

Cholmondeley pistol claim dismissed

The prosecution has dismissed as an afterthought claims rally driver Carl Tundo had a pistol when a stonemason was shot at the Delamere?s Soysambu farm.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko said there is inconsistency in the statement given to the police by Mr Tom Cholmondeley on May 12, 2006 and his un-sworn statement to the court.
